Subject: Gases produced during Electrolytic Reduction

This has probably been asked before but I missed it.During electrolytic reduction what gases are produced in the reaction if using a Sodium Hydroxide solution on an iron object for instance? What about others such as Sodium Carbonate, etc.? I know that Hydrogen is one, but not sure how much compared to others.Will this also vary depending on the base metal you are processing?TIA
