We operate a 330 MW coal fired boiler at Collie in WA Australia. The condenser has a 317l stainless steel tube plate, a rubber lined mild steel water box and copper alloy condenser tubes. I would like to get rid of the soft iron anodes attached to the tube plate, as they trap the sponge balls of the cleaning system. I am also dubious as to the usefulness of the system. The circulating water has a conductivity of 4000 microSiemens per cm (2800 TDS ) that gives it a resistivity of 250 ohm cm. Do you think the anodes surve any purpose under these conditions and if so what would that be.
