The tolerance you have specified is too tight for MIM parts. Depending on the MIM manufacturer, the tolerance is from +/-0.5% to +/-1.0% of the dimension. FloMet's MIM process can hold the tolerance to +/-0.5% of the dimension. Tighter tolerances will require machining after part sintering. These machining costs are significantly reduced as compared to wrought since MIM eliminates 90 to 99% of the machining required with tight tolerance parts.
