I'am a student. I want to design a device thet can calculate the total price of thing that people buy using the barcode,barcode reader and include the display of the total price.The device can be use by costumer to know the total price and no need to que up to long to pay for the money.

Can you give me a guideline to do this project.maybe a block diagramme or something else.
