You need to check your oil very frequently. These engines are known at times to be heavy consumers of oil. Lack of oil can lead to sludge. Toyota says loss of a qt. per 1000 miles is normal. In 4k miles, your engine would be dry of oil. Check your oil at every fill up if you own one of these high-maintenance machines.
