I suggest you go somewhere (non-Toyota) for a second opinion. Now that Toyota has come out with the sludge policy, they are now less likely to call the problem sludge. I have read of some whose engines have "carbonized" and are not covered under warranty while the description sounds much like the gelling/sludging. You may also want to call Toyota corporate to vent. Hopefully they will want to keep you as a customer.
