I HAVE A '99 CAMRY AND HAVE NOTICED BLUE SMOKE AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF OIL COMSUMPTION. LAST FRIDAY WHEN I STARTED MY CAR THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND. AT THAT MOMENT I JUST KNEW THAT THERE WAS MAJOR ENGINE DAMAGE. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO GET IT TOWED AND FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. LATER THAT DAY THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NOT THE "OIL GELLING", AND HE SAID THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE THE CRANKSHAFT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND AN APPROXIMATELY $2500.00 TO $3500.00; TO FIX IT. I ABOUT WENT CRAZY!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN TOLD ALSO BY TOYOTA AND THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A FAULTY PART. IN THAT CASE I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS MAKES ME MAD BECAUSE I MAINTAIN MY CAR, AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THIS HAPPENS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH TOYOTA. THIS IS MY FIRST, AND WILL BE MY LAST TOYOTA.
