On a car talk radio show today, 8/31/02, the host mentioned the possibility that the Toyota gelling or sludge build-up problem is caused by fuel contamination of the oil. He suggested that a malfunctioning injector or a too rich a fuel mixture could cause fuel to build up in the oil. Gasoline will cause oil to deteriorate quickly. A)It will be interesting to see if anyone else picks on this, and B), The next time I change the oil in my Camry I'm going to send a sample to a lab for analysis to see if there is any evidence of fuel in the oil. It will be well worth the $15US to find out.
